3. The Department encourages young students to explore various dimensions of life by participating in different activities and programmes. The Department celebrates the Freshers’ Welcome with much enthusiasm, and students host cultural programme to make their journey smooth and memorable.

4. The Department published its magazine in virtual mode: PALIMPSESTS (June, 2020)

5. The Department conducted an online survey by seeking feedback on teaching learning mechanism and psychological condition during the lockdown period imposed nationwide to combat the spread of Pandemic Covid 19.

6. The faculty members engage in communication with students to help them tide over various psycho-social crises.

7. The Department organizes various academic programmes in order to provide greater academic exposure to our students:
   
   

   1. Online Special Lecture was organized by the Dept on 26th June, 2020 on Zoom platform : Prof Amrit Sen, Professor, Dept of English, Visva-Bharati delivered a Special Lecture on ‘Playing with the Form: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’

   2. An International webinar was organized on 13th July, 2020 on Girl Interrupted: Trauma and Emancipation of Women

      1. Dr Shipra Mukherjee, Professor, Dept of English, West Bengal State University delivered the special lecture on ‘Girl Imagined: Pushing the Boundary of This Imagined Community’.

      2. Dr Robin E Field, Professor, Department of English, King’s College, Pennsylvania, USA delivered special lecture on ‘Re-Centering the Rape Victim in Contemporary American Novels’

      3. Dr Aishika Chakraborty, Professor, School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University delivered a special lecture on ‘Calcutta Cabaret: Pleasure, Politics and Perversion’.
